Matthew E. Suhl is an experienced litigator with over 13 years of practice handling labor and employment matters, municipal prosecution, civil rights cases, and building code enforcement. Matt helps businesses and individuals navigate complex legal challenges, offering strategic counsel and strong advocacy in and out of the courtroom.

Before joining Robbins DiMonte in 2025, Matt was a Senior Attorney in the Chicago Transit Authority’s Law Department, where he litigated employment matters involving ADA, FMLA, and workplace discrimination cases. He also advised CTA management on employment policies and compliance, helping to mitigate risks and develop proactive legal strategies. Prior to his time at the CTA, Matt served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago, defending the City and its officials in employment-related litigation.

Matt prioritizes prevention, working closely with clients to identify risks, ensure compliance, and implement proactive strategies to avoid disputes. When litigation is unavoidable, he is a dedicated advocate, committed to protecting his clients’ interests and achieving the best possible outcome. By keeping his clients informed every step of the way, Matt ensures they can navigate legal challenges with confidence.

  • Successfully reached no-cost settlement on behalf of a transport services client in federal court in the Northern District of Illinois. The plaintiff sought damages in excess of one million dollars claiming trademark infringement. In a case in which a plaintiff sought in excess of one million dollars for violations of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, Matthew E. Suhl and Jeiel Noh reached a settlement of $5,000 on behalf of their client, a transport and logistics company.
