Luis C. Gutierrez focuses his practice on litigation matters. He brings a comprehensive perspective to dispute resolution and understands that effective representation requires consideration of both the immediate issues at hand and their long-term impact.
Prior to joining Robbins DiMonte, Luis represented clients in family law matters, handling complex issues involving child custody, divorce, parenting time, and asset division. Through this work, he gained substantial courtroom experience and regularly guided clients through highly personal and emotionally charged disputes. These experiences sharpened his ability to evaluate competing interests, navigate challenging situations, and remain focused on solutions that align with his clients’ goals.
During law school, Luis built a strong foundation across a broad range of legal disciplines through judicial externships, public sector service, and transactional work. He served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Angel Kelley of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Honorable O. Rogeriee Thompson of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, where he assisted with legal research, drafting memoranda, and analyzing complex legal issues before the federal courts.
Luis also served in the Office of General Counsel for the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance, where he supported legal work related to state capital projects and administrative matters. Additionally, he was a member of his law school’s Transactional Law Clinic, advising individuals on entity formation, business operations, and contract drafting. He further gained experience working with small law firms in real estate and civil matters, supporting attorneys through legal research, drafting, and client communications.
His diverse experience allows him to identify potential challenges, evaluate available options, and guide clients through every stage of a dispute, from initial assessment through trial when necessary.
