Esteban Valtierra focuses his practice on bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters.
Before joining Robbins DiMonte in 2026, Esteban worked at a prominent law firm in New York state that represented clients in Chapter 11 reorganizations, Section 363 sales, Chapter 7 liquidations, and out-of-court workouts. Prior to this, Esteban served as a Term Law Clerk to the Honorable Patrick G. Radel at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Northern District of New York. In this capacity, Esteban helped manage a high volume of Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 bankruptcy cases, assisted the judge in drafting judicial opinions and court orders, and prepared continuing legal education materials.
While in law school, Esteban served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable LaShonda A. Hunt at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Northern District of Illinois. He further externed at the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the U.S. Trustee. Additionally, Esteban served as a law clerk at Shaw Legal Services, Ltd., supporting attorneys in civil matters through legal research, brief drafting, and client communications. He also served as a Law Clerk for the Chicago Board of Education, representing the Board in administrative hearings and managing a caseload of employee discipline matters. Furthermore, as an Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711 Licensed Law Clerk with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Esteban conducted bench trials and received the Law Clerk Award at the El Humanitario Awards in 2022.
Prior to law school, Esteban was an AmeriCorps member with the Illinois Justice Corps, assisting pro se litigants at the Daley Center courthouse in Chicago.
