Mary Frances Charlton has over 10 years of litigation experience in practice areas including labor & employment, civil rights, class actions, and consumer law. Prior to joining Robbins DiMonte in 2024, Mary Frances was a Senior Attorney in the Law Department of the Chicago Transit Authority, where she litigated employment matters such as ADA, FMLA, and employment discrimination cases as well as handled labor arbitrations and related labor relations matters. She also provided advice and counsel to CTA management and crafted labor & employment policy for CTA.
As a seasoned attorney, Mary Frances advises clients in navigating complex employment issues that may lead to, or already have led to, litigation. She also advises clients on compliance, policy, and practices designed to avoid labor & employment disputes. Mary Frances enjoys strategically partnering with diverse clients in order to attain favorable outcomes and meet their goals.
Prior to moving to Chicago, Mary Frances was an attorney with the Legal Aid Justice Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. She also was an adjunct faculty for the Employment Law Clinic at the University of Virginia School of Law. In this capacity, Mary Frances lectured and supervised Clinic students representing Legal Aid Justice Center clients in employment matters, including complex federal litigation.
