Abraham Brustein has been practicing in the field of commercial bankruptcy since 1976. During that time, he has primarily represented businesses and their owners as both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases, and as parties in bankruptcy litigation. He has also represented Trustees in Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases and debtors-in-possession in Chapter 11 reorganization cases. Additionally, Mr. Brustein has experience deep in federal and state courts in commercial litigation, primarily in suits emanating from partnership and shareholder disputes and commercial transactions. On the transactional side, he frequently represents independent sales representatives in negotiating and drafting contracts with their principals, landlords and tenants in negotiating and drafting office leases, lenders and borrowers in restructuring defaulted debt, and businesses in drafting contracts.

As of January 2022, Mr. Brustein will limit to his practice to providing guidance and counsel in the areas of his expertise to clients and other lawyers who are more actively representing the firm’s clients, and in assisting in those representations on an as requested-as needed basis.
